2. Next up in Ombra’s ‘Shadow Thieves’ dinner series is That’s the Spirit. A five course dinner paired with Hippocampus Vodka, Four Pillars Gin, Causes & Cures Vermouth, Starward Whisky, beer, prosecco and wines sounds like a good way to remedy a serious bout of Mondayitis.

3. Jardin Tan has all the goodtime essentials planned for their afternoon Summer Sunset Sessions. Every Sunday during the season, the Royal Botanic Gardens welcomes a rotating dj line-up (DJ AK is on board for the launch event), seasonal cocktails like Vietnamese Sangria, craft beer, Shannon Bennett’s food and garden games like over-sized Jenga.

4. The Scotch Malt Whisky Society is hosting an intimate Melbourne Islay Tasting over supper at The Kilburn. Tipples will focus on whiskies from the Scottish island of Islay, known for their notes of smoke and peat.

5. A gin festival is exactly what Melbourne needs. Thank you Pilgrim, Riverland and West Winds Gin for bringing us Juniperlooza. Expect meet-the-maker sessions and a tasting or two naturally. 6. You know we’re just going straight for the Prosecco at this one. 10 wineries in King Valley combine forces for La Dolce Vita an Italian-inspired food and wine festival. The road-trip up North sounds worth it.

7. Cocktail art. I’m in! Nieuw Amsterdam turns into a temporary gallery as artists Maria Montes exhibits Breaking the Ice. See cocktail and ingredient-inspired illustrations, prints, objects and lettering. Exhibition cocktails available at the bar. Runs until 6th December.

8. Leading the Dia de los Muertos a.k.a Day of the Dead celebrations is Espolon Tequila who are throwing a series of parties at Big Mouth, Bimbo Deluxe, Kodiak Club’s Little Blood, The Penny Black and Touche Hombre (check in with the venues for specific date/times). Celebrations will vary but you may stumble upon Mexican street food and tacos, sugar skull face painting, live art, margaritas, tequila shots and other special cocktails.

9. Pelican Lawn becomes the food pinnacle of Melbourne for an extended long weekend at Taste of Melbourne. Many of our best local restaurants will be dishing out their signatures, so there’s naturally plenty to drink alongside those too.
