- First up on the whisk(e)y train is The Bitters Lab. They’ve roped in Boilermaker House’s head bartender Max Allison to teach a Whiskey Cocktail Masterclass. Learn how to best make old and new mixed drinks and take home some bittered goodness to experiment with.

2. Don’t know about you but we’re already itching for an Autumn road trip. 19 North East Victorian wineries are providing the destination with Tastes of Rutherglen. 5. On the eve of St. Patricks Day, Martin Lynch, Teeling Whiskey Co’s Australian ambassador, will guide a Teeling appreciation evening at 1806. Sample a cocktail on arrival, four tastings, sharing platters and cheese.

6. Jameson ambassador Max Hart will host a one hour Whiskey (Irish of course) masterclass at Plus 5 for St Pat’s. Five tastings will help the history lesson go down. We recommend you pair this event with the below for a roving whiskey experience.

7. Meat Market will host a Whiskey degustation dinner again with Jameson ambassador Max Hart at the helm. Cocktails on arrival kick start four courses of dishes paired with Glenlivet, Aberlour and new Jameson whiskies. It’s amazing value for two of you (only an extra $20 to take a friend!)

8. Loch & Key are throwing a St Pat’s party featuring Teeling whiskey cocktail specials – boozy Shamrock Shakes anyone? – and Irish tunes (including Celtic punk). 9. Hot Dub Wine Machine bring their rather civilized disco to Rochford Estate. A 9 hour long DJ line-up (headed by Pnau Miami Horror) will play soundtrack to much wine tasting and picnic hampering. And then of course getting down beside the vines.
