Say hello hello to Zhou Zhou. It’s the new bar that’s secreted away in the loft space above Oriental Teahouse. Zhou Zhou claims to have the most extensive Asian beer list in the nation, while the cocktail line-up leans towards “fun” tipples with classic Asian ingredients such as lemongrass, aloe vera juice, sake and lychee lollies. A major benefit of the nightspot’s location is that patrons can chase their drink selections down with an order or chilli wagyu beef dumplings or really good pork buns to order at the bar. Hecker Guthrie has designed the nouveau Shanghai fit-out complete with brightly painted cane furniture and pixelated 1930’s China girls (you’re not that tipsy; it’s just the art).
