Mr. Miyagi is your new sensei. Except this version prefers chopstick to karate chops and booze to black belts. The new Japanese inspired (“we’re not trying to be authentic”) bar and restaurant is part of the new food influx happening in the oft-overlooked Windsor end of Chapel Street. Mr. M is a pop-culture infused, tongue-in-cheek take on the land of the Rising Sun; poking Confucius-like (yes, I realise the philosopher was Chinese) fun at diners who incessantly take photos of their food and the Melbourne Mexican food onslaught. They have a rollicking vibe, pretty sexy cocktails and really tasty sushi too. Take your friends, but don’t take it all too seriously.
Let Mr. Miyagi teach you a lesson at 99 Chapel St, Windsor.
