Tequila is so underrated – and even demonised – in my book. Give one of the greatest cocktails of all time the respect it deserves for Margarita Day tomorrow. Here’s your mini-guide on where to celebrate in Melbourne! And if you’re making your own at home, try to shop and drink local (that means sourcing Australia owned tequila like Tromba and an Australian made triple sec like Marionette’s).

- Start at either Good Heavens, Madame Brussels, Heroes Karaoke Bar or Loop Roof for their unique twists on the classic margarita. Have your passport (collect one at your first venue) stamped at all four location and you could win Tromba goodies.
2. Bodega Underground, Mamasita and Mesa Verde are doing also doing the progressive passport thing. Visit all three this week and you could win a bottle of Herradura.
3. Pope Joan are whipping up Cornish sandwiches with deep-fried jalapeños on the side, paired with a Marionette/Tromba margarita for $28! You might even be lucky enough to score margs and sandwiches for nix from the label ambassadors if you rock up at 2pm tomorrow.
4. White Oaks Saloon has a $15 Herradura margarita special.
5. Blue Diamond is doing two Herradura margaritas + nachos for $35.
6. Temperance has $15 margs plus Latin music on late.
7. Corner Hotel is hosting a pop-up Herradura tequila garden.
8. Touché Hombre and Mezcalito Agave Bar are offering $10 Tommy’s margaritas, $15 classic margaritas and mariachi music.
9. Mesa Verde has specials on margarita twists all week. They’ve got Marionette liqueurs matched to Herradura, Tromba or Arette tequilas tomorrow for $16.
10. Chuckle Park has $15 Tommy’s, classic and twist margaritas.
11. Campari House is mixing up Don Julio Tommy’s for only $10.
12. The new Bar Clara has Tommy’s margaritas for $15, with a spicy option!
