So it’s International Coffee Day. A time for all caf-fiends to join as one in celebrating their daily brew. Around here of course, we prefer to take our espresso in martini form. But any old espresso martini recipe simply will not do. So today, Palermo share the secret to their intense ‘La Cumparsita’ cocktail. This sweet, South American twist on an espresso martini is made delectable via the addition of spiced rum, sherry, chocolate and caramel. Live dangerously by ordering Palermo’s dulce de leche tiramisu on the side too.
– La Cumparsita –
– Ingredients –
45ml Spiced Rum (like Sailor Jerry’s)
15ml Pedro Ximenez Sherry (like Romate Cardenal Cisneros)
15ml dulce de leche
1 shot of chilled espresso
Grated chocolate, to garnish
– Method –
Combine all ingredients in a shaker. Shake well. Double strain into a coupette glass. Garnish with a sprinkle of chocolate
Find it at Palermo, 401 Little Bourke Street, Melbourne.
