Since the ingredients Australian craft distillers use in making their spirits are intrinsically connected to the land, so many of their flavours are inspired by the bush and around 90% of them are based in regional areas, it makes sense for the local spirits community to do something tangible to help our neighbours experiencing hardship caused by bushfire and drought.
The Aussie Spirit Auction for Rural Aid is about the little guy helping other little guys – that’s our idea of the Australian spirit!
But for you it means exclusive access to some rare, limited edition, priceless or special release whiskys, gins, rums, vodkas and more surprises. 😉

About the Auction:
The original idea for this fundraiser came from Craig at Craft Works Distillery. David from 5Nines Distilling has jumped on board to lead a team of volunteers including Amy at Wright Event, Robbie from Round Oak Barrels / Travelling Whisky Reviews (who was directly affected by the bushfires in Marysville on Black Saturday), craft spirits fan David T and…me.
The immediate response has been wonderful. Over 40 generous distillers are already involved with names like Bill Lark, Manly Spirits Co., Timboon Distillery, Death Gin and the Australian Distillers Association on board in support.
About our chosen cause:
Rural Aid is one of Australia’s largest rural charities. Known for the successful ‘Buy a Bale’ campaign, the charity’s vision is one where farming and rural communities are safeguarded to ensure their sustainability both during and after natural disasters. 100% of the we raise at The Aussie Spirit Auction will go to Rural Aid.
