For the love of peat, the ‘Festival of Whisky’ begins tomorrow at The Kilburn! The festival is an extended week-long celebration of the golden elixir featuring master distillers, blenders and experts and interesting, rare or archival tipples. The deliciousness includes oyster and blue cheese pairings, experimental barrel aging of various concoctions and the most pleasurable kind of education. Many of the happenings are already sold out but you might still be lucky enough to;
– Venture through Scotland, Ireland and Japan with a masterclass tasting hosted by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society.
– Sneak into the limited-edition archives of Scottish bottler Adelphi featuring Bunnahabhain, Clynelish, Mortlach and Glenrothes distilleries.
– Join in on ‘Flight Night’ as The Kilburn unveils its new whisky menu and flights.
– Wrap up the festival with an exhibition of 100 world-wide whiskies at the grand-sounding ‘The Whiskey Gathering’ (yes, y0u can taste).
Book your place at the Society tasting here, the Adelphi archives here or the Gathering here (it’s free entry for Flight Night on the 14th).
